SACO — Two local teens recently received the highest rank in Boy Scouts: the Eagle Scout award.

For his Eagle Scout project, Timothy Morris, a senior at Thornton Academy, constructed a meditation garden behind Most Holy Trinity Church. He directed the placement and planting of several flower beds, and the placement of a bench and several statues.

He is a member of Most Holy Trinity Church and a former altar server.

Morris started in Cub Scouts, in Pack 310, in the second grade and continued through Boy Scouts, in Troop 310, until he turned 18 in December.

He held various leadership positions in Troop 310, including senior patrol leader, patrol leader, webmaster and scribe. He joined the Police Explorers in high school and remains an active member. He also attended Police Explorer Camp at the State Police Academy in Vassalboro.

Morris enlisted in the Maine Air National Guard in September, joining the 265th Combat Communications Squadron in South Portland. He will report to Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas in July. Then he will attend technical training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss. He plans to attend the University of Southern Maine.

Morris works at Dairy Queen in Saco and is a lifeguard at the YMCA in Biddeford.

Jeremy Poisson, a senior at Thornton Academy, constructed a cross country skiing and hiking trail off Ross Road for his Eagle Scout project. He is the third son in his family earn the Eagle Scout Award.

Poisson joined Cub Scouts in the first grade in Pack 310 and completed his journey to Eagle in Troop 310 as a Boy Scout. He has held various leadership positions in the troop, including senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leaders and patrol leader.

Poisson works at a local campground as a zip line technician, where he is responsible for maintenance, operation and safety. He will attend Maine Maritime Academy in the fall.
