SANFORD — The Parent Resource Center recently announced it has been awarded a one-year grant of $11,000 from United Way of York County.
This investment will benefit the Practical Parenting Series and the Family Access programs of the agency. Through the mobilization of resources, expertise and funds that support programs focused on the essential building blocks of education, income and health, United Way of York County advances the common good and strengthens the whole community, leaders there said.
The Parent Resource Center has offered parent training and support to parents and families in York County since 1987.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
