On Monday, Derek Berube, 27, was arrested on Main Street by Officer Paul Chenevert. Berube was charged with theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, violating conditions of release and unlawful possession of a scheduled drug.

Berube, of Hollis Center, allegedly stole a cellphone charger from L.L. Bean, where an employee reported the theft.

Lt. Susan Nourse said the cellphone charger was valued at approximately $40, and was recovered and returned to L.L. Bean. Berube was also found to be in possession of a strip of Suboxone, a Schedule W drug.

Nourse said Berube was transported to Cumberland County Jail and arraigned at the Portland District Court on Wednesday.

Kristina Kittredge, 28, of Augusta, was arrested by Officer Jason Bartlett for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer at L.L. Bean on Tuesday. Kittredge also has a warrant out for failure to appear at court.

The theft was reported by an L.L. Bean loss prevention specialist and Kittridge was arrested around 4 p.m. for theft of clothing, toys and camping items, valued at more than $600.

Nourse said all items had been recovered and returned to L.L. Bean.

Kittredge was transported to Cumberland County Jail, and was later released on bail. She has not been arraigned. A court date has been set for June 17 at the West Bath District Court.

Daniel L. Grass, 26, was issued a summons by Officer Keith Norris on Monday for criminal trespass. Grass is to appear at the West Bath District Court on June 17.

Grass, a Freeport resident, allegedly trespassed at the Shaw’s supermarket, located at 200 Lower Main St. Lt. Nourse said a notice had previously been issued notifying Grass that he was not to return to the property.

A Shaw’s employee identified Grass, who was unaccompanied, and supermarket management filed a complaint against Grass.
