Ethan Jordan hit a two-run single during a four-run fifth inning Saturday that helped Cheverus defeat Biddeford 6-3 in an SMAA baseball game.

Jordan’s single to right-center drove in Felix Del Vecchio and Jensen LaPoint as the Stags (3-1) took a 5-2 lead against Biddeford (2-1).

Mitchell Powers of Cheverus gave up no earned runs, striking out eight.

PORTLAND 7, GORHAM 3: Joe Apon and Joe Fusco lined consecutive RBI doubles as the Bulldogs (2-1) scored five times in the third inning to take a 5-2 lead against Kennebunk (0-4) at Portland.

Ryan Dixon struck out 10 over six innings for Portland, allowing two runs and six hits.

BONNY EAGLE 7, MASSABESIC 1: Kyle Whitman had two goals and an assist and Zack Gryskwicz added two goals as the Scots (2-1) beat Massabesic (1-3) at Standish.

Stephen Estes had one goal and four assists, and Ryan Kern added a goal and an assist for the Scots.

Baker Riddell made 11 saves for Bonny Eagle, allowing only a goal by Nick Staples. Larry Fournier had 22 stops for the Mustangs.

CAPE ELIZABETH 8, KENNEBUNK 4: Noah Haversat scored three goals, and Owen Thoreck and Ben Shea added two each to lead the Capers (3-0) against Kennebunk (1-2) at Cape Elizabeth.

Tyler Elkington scored three times for the Rams.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 9, MT. ABRAM 6: Winning pitcher Lindsay Marston had two doubles and an RBI, and Aly Carlton added two singles a pair of RBI to lead the Falcons (4-1) over Mt. Abram (1-2) at Rumford.

Jacey Davenport singled, doubled and drove in three runs for Mt. Abram.

FRIDAY’S BASEBALL

WATERVILLE 18, LINCOLN ACADEMY 10: Ben Cox went 3 for 4 with five RBI, including a bases-clearing double in the third inning as the Panthers (8-1) beat Lincoln Academy (3-2) at Waterville.

Dalton Wood earned the victory in relief of Kaleb Kane as the Panthers rallied from an 8-1 deficit. Aidan Fitzgerald and Dan Pooler combined to score seven runs and drive in four for Waterville.

Lincoln had five doubles.

MORSE 7, ESRKINE ACADEMY 1: The Shipbuilders (3-1) took advantage of five errors to down Erskine Academy (1-3) at Bath.

MADISON 15, BOOTHBAY REGION 5: K.P. Carpenter and Derek LeBlanc each had four hits to lead Madison (1-3) over the Seahawks (0-3) at Boothbay Harbor.
