OLD ORCHARD BEACH — With just a month until Opening Day at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach, the Raging Tide has announced the addition of four more players to their roster.

The most notable addition is Scarborough native Ben Greenberg. The high school senior, who will be graduating in a matter of weeks, has committed to play for Division I Fordham University. Greenberg has dominated on the varsity team since his freshman year. He threw a no-hitter his freshman year and completed his junior season with a 6-1 record and an astounding 0.54 ERA. He also plays third base and hit .415 his junior season.

Another Maine native added to the roster is Southern Maine freshman Paul McDonough of Wells. The infielder attended Wells High School where he was named All-Western Maine Conference his sophomore and junior years, and was also selected as the Athlete of the Year as a junior by the York County Coast Star. McDonough has had a breakout freshman season for the Huskies. In 38 games played, he’s hit a scorching .355, scored 45 runs, accumulated 27 runs batted in, hit two homeruns and stole five bases.

Bethune-Cookman is sending along catcher turned pitcher, Lenny Martinez. The junior from Orlando, Florida played catcher through high school, but made the transition to pitcher for his sophomore season. He has pitched sparingly over the last two years, but his sidearm, near-submarine style could cause many problems for opposing hitters this summer.

Rounding out the quartet of new players is freshman pitcher, Jake Klancnik. The right hander, from Indian Hills Community College has a handful of appearances during his freshman campaign. In four appearances, Klancnik went 1-0 with one save and six strikeouts over 8.1 innings pitched.

The Raging Tide’s home opener is on June 4 at 7 p.m. at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach against the Nashua Silver Knights.
