BRUNSWICK — Sophie Bezdighian, 89, died unexpectedly Monday, April 28, 2014, at Mid Coast Senior Health Care in Brunswick.
She was born in Greece, April 5, 1925, and attended schools in Marseilles, France and moved the U.S. in 1957 with her husband Mesrop Bezdighian and their two children, Christine and Elizabeth.
She was a dress maker and tailor in France and after moving to the U.S. she later worked in the electronics industry as an assembly technician.
After retiring, she traveled extensively all over the world.
Her husband died in 1998.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Christine; and a brother Alexander Derderian.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Taylor and husband Philip of Bailey Island; a brother, Minas Derderian of France and two grandsons, Erik and Alexander Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10 at the First Baptist Church, 185 Maine St., Freeport, with Pastor Sandy Williams officiating.
