POLAND — Ally King had a bases-clearing double and was 3-for-4 at the plate as Kennebunk downed Poland 8-5 in a Western Maine Conference softball game on Monday afternoon.
Allie Gregoire also had a pair of hits for the Rams (3-4). The Knights fell to 2-4.
Baseball
Old Orchard Beach 13, North Yarmouth Academy 3
OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Thomas Fregeau went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs to lead Old Orchard Beach past NYA in a Western Maine Conference baseball game on Monday afternoon at The Ballpark.
Dylan Creswell also had three hits and three RBIs for the Seagulls (3-2), while Hunter Bouthot and Brendon Kaliher each had two hits as OOB scored three runs in both the second and third innings and six more in the fifth to take control.
Andrew Keith also had two hits for NYA (0-3).
Girls Lacrosse
Waynflete 11, Wells 7
WELLS — Leigh Fernandez scored four goals and added two assists as Waynflete topped Wells in a Western Maine Conference girls lacrosse game on Monday afternoon.
Cat Johnson and Ella Mallard also scored twice for the Flyers (2-2).
Hailey Smith and Nicki Moody led Wells (1-2) with two goals apiece, while Megan McDonald also scored a goal and Cassidy Healey made 16 saves in goal.
Boys Tennis
Thornton Academy 4, Portland 1
SACO — Victor Menezes and David Parran both came from behind to win singles matches as Thornton Academy remained unbeaten with a 4-1 victory over Portland in an SMAA boys tennis match on Monday.
After dropping the first set 5-7, Menezes came back to beat Carran Clere 6-2, 6-3 in the final two sets to win the No. 1 singles, while at No. 2 singles Parran overcame a 5-7 loss in the first set to beat Chris Eye 6-2, 6-1.
The Golden Trojans (4-0) also won both doubles matches as Will Karas and Eric Gooch topped Will Sarvis and Alex Abreae 6-2, 6-3, and Dylan Gooch and Simon Belliveau downed Joe Menard and Charles Gawin 6-2, 6-4.
Portland (0-3) got its only win at No. 3 singles as Peter Gribizs beat Jared Waterhouse 6-2, 6-3.
Girls Tennis
Sanford 4, Marshwood 1
SANFORD — Misa Mai defeated Sophie Syrene 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles match to lead Sanford past Marshwood in an SMAA girls tennis match on Monday afternoon.
The Spartans’ Paige Tranchemontagne beat Jenna Gilbert 6-3, 8-7 in the No. 3 singles, while the pairings of Lauren MacPherson and Ciara Negron and Alley Nichols and Lauren Vachon also picked up straight-set wins for Sanford.
The Hawks only point came from the No. 1 singles, where Sage Winter beat Kathryn Doiron 6-0, 6-0.
York 5, Kennebunk 0
YORK — Mia Briggs beat Laura Haddad 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles match to lead York to a sweep of Kennebunk in a Western Maine Conference girls tennis match on Monday.
Sarah Carley won at No. 2 singles 7-6, 6-1, while the Wildcats won both doubles matches and took the No. 3 singles by default.
