BIDDEFORD — Catholic Charities Maine, CCM, was recently awarded two one-year grants from United Way of York County.
A $25,000 grant was awarded to St. Louis Child Development Center. A COA nationally-accredited Center, St. Louis provides care to infants, toddlers, pre-school and school-age children, 6 weeks to 7 years old, regardless of income. The center delivers a curriculum of developmentally appropriate, early learning programs tackling both literacy and math skills in addition to enrichments like yoga, gardening, music and more.
In addition, a grant in the amount of $6,500 was awarded to CCM’s Independent Support Services Program. This investment will help Maine seniors remain independent in their homes by connecting isolated seniors and disabled individuals with a professionally supervised team of dedicated para-professionals who help with a variety of tasks, from routine housekeeping to grocery shopping, laundry and transportation.
Through the mobilization of resources, expertise and funds that support programs focused on the essentials of education, financial stability and health, United Way of York County seeks to advance the common good and strengthens the whole community, according to a recent statement.
