BIDDEFORD — Rachel A. Cote, of Biddeford, died on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.

She was born in Biddeford on Nov. 13, 1958, to Laurier and Theresa (Cantara) Cote.

She attended local schools in Biddeford.

Rachel had been employed at Edgewater Motel in Old Orchard Beach as a housekeeper before retiring in 2013.

Rachel was an extremely dedicated and hard working person. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was an excellent mother and good friend to many.

Rachel also enjoyed giving back to her community by volunteering at the Friends of Community Action food pantry. She was also an advocate for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).

She was preceded in death by: her father, Laurier Cote in 2010; her son, William Cote in 1994; her fiancé, Gerard Campobasso in 1994; and two brothers, Larry Cote in 2011 and Gerald Cote in 2014.

Rachel is survived by: her mother, Theresa Cote of Biddeford; one son, Jesse Campobasso of Saco; brother, Lucien Cote and his wife Grace of Biddeford; four sisters, Claudette Cloutier, Diane Wong and her husband George and Diana Kane, all of Biddeford, and Theresa Waterhouse and her husband Louis of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the York County Veterans Alliance, located at 24 Bradbury St., Biddeford.
