WATERBORO — Allie Pike struck out 10 batters and the Bonny Eagle offense came up with a late run for the second game in a row as the Scots edged host Massabesic 5-4 in an SMAA softball game on Friday.
The Mustangs brought home three runs in the fourth to take a 4-2 lead, but the Scots answered with two in the fifth and the game-winning run in the top of the sixth.
Pike and Rebecca Howell each had two hits for the Scots, while Alyssa Wardwell led the Mustangs with four hits. Abby Greenleaf and Tessa Bandle each had a pair of hits ”“ including a double for both ”“ for Massabesic.
Sarah Howe took the loss for the Mustangs after giving up 11 hits over seven innings.
