BIDDEFORD — EWTN Global Catholic Network has promoted Peter Gagnon to the position of vice president of programming and production. In this new role, Gagnon will have management responsibility over the network’s program scheduling, promotion and production activities, including EWTN’s Washington, D.C.-based news operations.

“Peter has a long history at EWTN, having worked here for almost 21 years in a variety of positions,” said EWTN Chairman and CEO Michael P. Warsaw. “As international project manager, he was responsible for coordinating EWTN’s Spanish-language translation project during the launch of our first 24-hour Spanish language channel.

“Most recently, as director of programming and production, he oversaw all of EWTN’s multiple-language, on-the-ground coverage of last year’s papal election in Rome. He is a great asset to the network.”

Gagnon is a native of Biddeford, where he still enjoys ice fishing with his brother each year. A graduate of the University of Maine, he moved to Alabama in 1993 and began working at EWTN that same year.

He and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 15 years and have six children, Nathanial, Zachary, Grace Marie, Matthew, William and Luke.
