To the Editor:
We have known Jackie Sartoris for a number of years as a friend and as our former Town Councilor. We support her to represent Brunswick House District 50 in the Legislature.
Jackie has a strong record serving Brunswick in many capacities. She has been an effective voice for seniors, including doing elder law work. As an advocate for Brunswick’s youth, she supported the school budget and is afounding board member of the Teen Center. As a Councilor she sought innovative ways to save taxpayer dollars, including proposingregionalization of some services. Jackie also works to protect the environment, including championing Brunswick’s single stream recycling and pay-per-bag system, which has added many years to the life of our landfill.
Jackie has a proven track record advocating for issues that people in Brunswick care about and finding common ground with other policy makers in her work for constituents. It is time we send her to Augusta by voting for her on June 10th.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
