TOPSHAM — Ben Freeman was the pitching and hitting standout as the Mt. Ararat Middle School seventh grade baseball team rolled to a 14-1 win over Tripp on Thursday.

Freeman and Nate Taylor had three hits apiece, and Freeman allowed just one run through four innings on the mound. He struck out eight.

Willie Kavanaugh pitched the fifth.

Austin Damon and Cade Charron chipped in two hits each, with other key base knocks coming from Parker Swanson, Dakota Lopez and Matt Kearney.

Hunter Lohr was solid behind the plate and paced a fine defensive game for Mt. Ararat.
