ORONO — Emily Doyon was recently inducted into the University of Maine Sophomore Eagles Honor Society.
All incoming freshman women are eligible to apply to the Sophomore Eagles. Forty are chosen for interviews and 12 are chosen to become Sophomore Eagles based on their character, scholarship, leadership, friendliness and participation in college activities.
Emily graduated from Biddeford High School in 2013 and is the daughter of Ann Marie Doyon of Biddeford and Michael Doyon of Lyman. She plans to major in chemical engineering at UMO. She was recently awarded a Pulp and Paper Scholarship. She is also a UMO Presidential Scholar, recipient of the Becky Valitchka Memorial Scholarship, Biddeford Saco Rotary Club Scholarship, St. Louis Alumni Scholarship and Gerald M. Belisle Memorial Scholarship.
She has a paid summer internship at Verso Paper’s Androscoggin Mill in Jay.
