BELFAST — Morse High School scored four runs each in the first three innings en route to a 12-2 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference softball win over Belfast on Wednesday.
The Shipbuilders improved to 3-6 and play host to Nokomis on Friday.
Jacelyn McNeill took the mound win as she twirled a four-hitter with four strikeouts. Belfast (4-5) hurler Ashley Littlefield had 15 strikeouts and five walks.
McNeill also helped her own cause with a two-run home run and two singles, while Meghan Stover and Hope Faulkingham had two singles each, and Kate Dube, Lauren Chandler, Leia Graves and Ali Gagnon a single each.
Casey Thayer tripled in the loss.

Lisbon scored 19 runs in the third inning and eight more in the fourth en route to a Mountain Valley Conference Mercy Rule win over Boothbay Region on Wednesday.
Kailyn Hill worked two innings with five strikeouts and a walk, and Alyssa Hall finished up with three strikeouts and no walks.
Olivia Harrington, Molly Nicholson, Ariana Kahler, Taylor Plourde and Kipri Steele were Lisbon repeat hitters.
Boothbay (0-8) had just two base runners: Mackenzie Abbott and Brenn Alley.
Lisbon improved to 3-6 and visits Carrabec on Friday.

In Western Maine Conference play on Wednesday, Haley True scattered five hits with a dozen strikeouts to lead Gray-New Gloucester (4-5) past the 1-7 Falcons.
Freeport, scheduled to host Traip Academy on Friday, scored its lone run in the fifth inning when Krista Bertrand smacked a triple to score Lauren Briggs.
The Patriots led 2-0 after one inning on RBIs by Jen Sutherland and Maria Valente, who wound up with a couple of hits and two RBIs.

In MVC play, Krissy Doughty twirled a no-hitter to lead the 6-2 Ramblers past Wiscasset, which dipped to 1-8 and visits Dirigo on Friday.
Doughty struck out 12 in six innings.
Cat Ouellette tripled and singled for the Ramblers, while Lily Ouellette had two doubles and a single. Lily Beauregard and Abby Helm chipped in with two singles each.

In KVAC play on Wednesday, the hosts Eddies scored two runs each in the third and fourth innings to defeat Mt. Ararat.
The visiting Eagles dipped to 2-6 and host Cony on Friday.
Kate Guerin had an RBI double (Devon Hutchins walked) in the fourth for Mt. Ararat, and Sara Lamb doubled in Hutchins in the sixth.
Molly Murray had two singles for the 5-3 Eddies, while Brooke Reynolds doubled.
Alana Weaver pitched for the Eagles and gave up nine hits with three strikeouts and no walks, while Murray went the distance for EL and gave up just two hits with three strikeouts and three walks,
Center fielder Hannah Reis made a standout catch in the first inning for Mt. Ararat.
