BATH — Smith-Tobey Post of the Bath Cal Ripken Baseball lost to Lisbon Hair, 9-5 in recent play.
In Major Division action, host Lisbon Hair pounded out eight hits and took advantage of a timely error.
For Smith-Tobey, Jackson Walker was 3-for-3 with a triple and two singles and Asa Hodgdon 3-for-3 with three singles, while Thomas Warren and Josiah Yeaton each singled. Warren made the defensive play of the game, an unassisted double play.
In a 9-1 win over Sharon Drake Realty, Smith-Tobey banged out 12 hits. Solid pitching that combined for 14 stikeouts helped earn a victory in Bath.
The Smith-Tobey offense was powered by Warren, who had a double and a grand-slam home run, driving in six runs.
Walker chipped in with a double and a single, Isaak Flaming and Wade Bradford had two singles each, and Hodgdon, Yeaton and Sam Kirkpatrick each had a single.
Flaming and Walker each recorded five strikeouts in two innings of mound work, while Warren closed the game with four strikeouts in the final two frames.
Flaming ended the game with an unassisted double play at first, while Bradford had a nifty catch in center to deny Nicco Bartone of extra bases.
For Sharon Drake, the offense was led by a Jack Leonard triple, while Bartone and Joe Guenther each singled.
Bartone and Leonard both pitched well, each striking out four in two innings of work, and Brenton Cahill made a standout catch in center field in denying Warren of extra bases.
