SOUTH PORTLAND – The 5th annual Bug Light Kite Festival in South Portland has been postponed to Saturday, May 24, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., according to the organizers.
Since the forecast is predicting heavy rains for this weekend, the South Portland Historical Society has decided to postpone the kite fest, which was originally scheduled to take place on May 17.
Despite the week’s delay, the historical society’s Cushing’s Point Museum has just received a big shipment of kites. Drop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day to choose a kite from the outstanding selection available. Kites start at $4.95, with many in the $10 to $20 range, and some “wicked awesome kites” in the $30 range, including lions and tigers and bears, dragon kites, mermaids, pirate ships and more.
