SACO — Timothy Dennis Duranceau passed away peacefully, at age 57, in his New Jersey home on Jan. 12, 2014.
Tim was the youngest of Norman and Phyllis Duranceau’s six children and was born on June 6, 1956. Growing up, Tim’s family lived on Maple Street in Saco, where Tim and his siblings played in what they called “our field.”
Tim graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco in 1974 and moved to Hollywood, Fla. He found his calling in the hotel and restaurant industry. Later, Tim accepted employment in Atlantic City and settled in Galloway, N.J.
Tim loved dogs and will be remembered as always being in the company of his canine companions. Tim was a humble man, who, on his journey through life, brought smiles to many and tears to none. He was a kind, gentle spirit.
He was preceded in death by: his brother, David Duranceau, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967; and both parents, Norman Duranceau and Phyllis Bogdahn-Duranceau-Bourke.
Tim is survived by: his life partner, Damon Iverson of Galloway, N.J.; three brothers, Mark of Saco, Donald of Fairbanks, Alaska and Michael of Green Bay, Wis.; and one sister, Carol Noble of Saco. Tim had nine nieces and nephews, as well as numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Tim was interred at his family’s resting place, next to his mother, father and brother, David. There will be a celebration of Tim’s life held graveside at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford on June 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. Tim’s family is asking for well-wishers to donate money in his name to the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk.
