For sheriff of York County, I support Bill King.
King’s resume is most impressive, with 26 years of federal law enforcement, nine years of local law enforcement, an acting sheriff, and a college level instructor for agents and officers.
Most importantly, for me, is his commitment to the people of Maine. Several years ago, members of my family were victimized by a Jamaican scam. As chief deputy in York County, King was assigned the case. Despite major obstacles in the federal, state and county bureaucracies, Bill persisted.
He followed leads, testified before Congress, and uncovered the organizational operations of the group responsible for stealing thousands and thousands of dollars from elderly Mainers.
I was very impressed by his intelligence, his savvy and his willingness to do what needed to be done to help residents in the county.
King will make a great sheriff for York County. Please support him on June 10.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
