BRUNSWICK — Mister Bagel of the Brunswick Cal Ripken Minor Division earned its first baseball win of the season over Durham, 6-2 on Friday evening.
Starting pitcher Grey Perham went two innings with four strikeouts. Drew Desantis got the ball in the third and threw three innings with eight strikeouts
Kaleb Thompson closed the game in the sixth, throwing 11 pitches for three strikeouts.
Chase Ross and Joey Valliere were defensive standouts and helped allow Durham only three base runners to reach base.
On the offensive side, Jacob Keef reached on a walk in the fourth inning and made it to third with two stolen bases. Anthony Correa followed with a runscoring single.
Izak Despres-Bowman also singled.
In the fifth, Perham led off with a walk, followed by a single by Kristian Keef and a walk by Desantis to load the bases for Max Hamilton, who drove in two runs with a single. Riley Hewson reached on a single, scoring Hamilton.
Kaleb Thompson reached on a single and Jacob Keef walked to load the bases for Jared Similien. Hewson scored the fifth run when Similien was hit by a pitch.
