LISBON
As part of the Lisbon Downtown Plan update, a public walking tour to explore the downtown area is scheduled for Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The tour will start downstairs in the Lisbon Public Library and continue down Main Street to Route 196, visiting businesses along the way and informally discussing topics such as business attraction and retention, sidewalks and crosswalks, signage, beautification, riverfront access management improvements, trails, parking, redevelopment, arts and culture and the Lisbon Village area.
The walking tour is open to businesses and residents to explore the downtown area as the process of updating Lisbon’s Downtown Plan begins in preparation for council adoption. This is an opportunity for those who have previously worked on Lisbon’s Downtown Plan as well as newcomers to continue the work in moving Lisbon forward.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
