TURNER — Trenton Moore pounded out five hits to lead the Morse High School baseball team to a 12- 1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win over Leavitt on Wednesday.
Moore drove in four, scored three runs and swiped two bases. Two of his hits were doubles.
Ethan Winglass, Chris Paulus and Josh McDougal chipped in two hits each, while Brandon Magliozzi picked up a two-run double.
Andrew LaCavera’s tworun single in the first gave Morse a 2-0 lead. The Shipbuilders added four runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh to pull away.
On the mound, Zack Holbrook hurled five innings for the win, allowing four hits and one run. Winglass tossed two innings of scoreless relief and has yet to allow a hit this season.
Nate Coombs led Leavitt (4-7) with two hits, while Levi Morin and Mitchell Davis (RBI double) added a hit each.
Morse is 9-3 and hosts Oceanside on Tuesday.

John Parker struck out 11 to give the host Dragons a KVAC win over Skowhegan.
Parker allowed four hits and walked one in going the distance as Brunswick improved to 6-5 and ended a three-game slide.
Nick Thibeault was 3-for-3 for the Dragons, who visit Messalonskee on Friday.
Skowhegan pitcher Kameron Nelson took the ha loss, going the distance on five hits and two strikeouts.
