SOUTH BERWICK — The Parish of the Ascension of the Lord will host multiple fundraisers this summer to help raise money for the Table of Plenty Workcamp scheduled for July 27 through Aug. 2.

The parish includes St. Raphael Church, Kittery; St. Christopher Church, York; Our Lady of the Angels Church, South Berwick; and Star of the Sea Church, York Beach.

About 350 youth and adult volunteers from York County and across the country will assemble and spend the week providing free painting, weatherization, ramp construction and other work for elderly, handicapped and lower-income residents in southern York County. Approximately 60 crews will work on the homes of more than 60 residents in the area. The program is sponsored by the parish and the Table of Plenty, the local soup kitchen for York, Kittery and Berwick.

A benefit concert is scheduled for Our Lady of Peace Church on 25 Saw Mill Hill in Berwick on Friday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m. The concert will feature Hilton Park, Whatever Four and Joyful Voices. Tickets are $10, and all proceeds will benefit the workcamp.

On Saturday, June 15, the Boy Scouts of America Troop 301 will hold a pancake breakfast at St. Aspinquid Masonic Lodge on 101 Long Sands Road in York from 8-11 a.m. Admission is $5 with the proceeds also benefitting the workcamp.

To assist with the cost of materials, organizers are asking businesses, groups and individuals in the community to “adopt a crew” for $200.
