OAKLAND — Messalonskee scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for an 8-7 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Brunswick on Friday.
Johnathan Wilkie’s sacrifice fly scored the tying run and the Eagles (9- 2) took the lead when Caleb Bean reached on an error.
Jake Dexter doubled and singled for Messalonskee. Dexter also pitched the seventh inning with two strikeouts.
Charlie Lowell and Ryan Maciewjewski each doubled for Brunswick (6-6). Maciejewski added two singles, and Will Bessey and Pearson Cost two hits each.
Lowell took the mound loss, as he went 5.1 innings with three strikeouts and a like number of walks.
Brunswick dipped to 6-6 and visits Mt. Ararat today.
MTN. VALLEY 4
LISBON 1
Tim Fitzgerald gave up five hits and walked one batter Monday as Mountain Valley hustled to a 4-1 MVC baseball victory over host Lisbon High School on Monday.
Caleb Gauvin led the Falcons (4-10) with a three-run double in the third inning. Logan Willhoite and Nick Newman also contributed RBI doubles.
The Greyhounds (9-5) were paced by Brett Gravel with a RBI single in the second frame when Lisbon took a 1-0 lead. Joe Philbrick went 1-for-3 and scored a run for Lisbon.
RJ Sargent (2.2 inings, strikeout, two wlaks), Ryley Austin (1.1 innings, strikeout) and Noah Francis (three innings, five strikeouts, two walks) took turns on the mound for the Greyhounds, who are scheduled to visit St. Dom’s on Wednesday.
