The SafetyWorks program of the Maine Department of Labor has recognized Deering Lumber for its efforts in providing a safe and healthy work environment at all three of its facilities, in Biddeford, Kennebunk and Springvale.

A ceremony took place May 14 at the Springvale site to mark the occasion. Department of Labor officials presented the company with individual Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program certificates for each complex.

“This award represents Deering Lumber’s high standards and employee involvement in creating a safe workplace,” said Steven Greeley of the Maine Department of Labor.

Deering Lumber is a lumber and building material supplier to southern Maine, locally owned and operated since 1866. The company serves professional building contractors and remodelers at three building centers: 14 Elm St. in Biddeford, 3 Brown St. in Kennebunk and 20 Coleco Lane in Springvale.
