Mark Berry was named president and chief executive officer of Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park.

Berry, of Princeton, was previously executive director of Grand Lake Stream-based Downeast Lakes Land Trust. He previously managed Oregon’s 34,000 acre Pine Creek Conservation Area.

 

Joanne Bean joined Saint Joseph’s College as vice president and chief advancement officer.

Bean brings more than two decades of experience in fundraising positions for hospitals, voluntary health care, and independent research institutions.

Before joining the college, Bean served as senior director of development for The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor; senior director for the American Diabetes Association; and director of patient education and community health and development for MaineGeneral Health, a position she held for nearly 15 years.

 

Gerri Chizeck of Baltimore was named head of school for Levey Day School.

Chizeck has more than 30 years of experience as a teacher and an administrator. She has been at the head of both secular and Jewish schools over that span.

 

Jeff Pemberton was hired by Pika Energy as director of dealer relationships and sales.

Most recently, Pemberton was the director of partnerships for Suncap Financial, now NRG Residential Solar Solutions.

 

Nick Cormier joined Broadreach Public Relations as an operations coordinator.

Cormier, of Old Orchard Beach, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm, including financial and facilities operations and vendor management.

Jillian Kanter was promoted to assistant account executive at Broadreach Public Relations.

Kanter, of Portland, joined the firm in 2013 as executive assistant. Previously, Kanter interned at two public relations firms in the Boston area.

 

Kelly Brogan was recently promoted to branch manager at cPort Credit Union’s Portland Riverside Branch.

Brogan joined cPort in 2009 as a member service representative and was previously assistant branch manager.

Jennifer Baickle was promoted to assistant branch manager at the credit union’s Riverside branch. Baickle was previously a member service representative.

Hammond Lumber Co. has received two awards from the Northeast Lumber Manufacturers Association for outstanding safety performance in 2013 at its sawmill and planer mill in Belgrade.

A Maine family-owned business founded in 1953, Hammond finished first in division 1 for its sawmill, and first in division 2 for the combined operations of both mills. Divisions are determined by the number of worker-hours logged during a calendar year.

Lt. Anthony J. Bean Burpee, who serves as public information officer for the Kennebunk Police Department, has accepted a position as chief of police with the town of Gilford, New Hampshire.

Lt. Dan Jones will become Kennebunk’s PIO.
