SANFORD — Glendene V. Woodsome, 95, of Sanford, died at her home on May 25, 2014.

Glendene was born in Springvale on Sept. 19, 1918, to Jerome and Ida (Connors) Emmons.

She was a 1937 graduate of the High School of Practical Arts in Roxbury, Mass.

She was employed for 30 years at Universal Shoe in Sanford.

Glendene was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Sanford. She was also a member of the 1918 Club, the former Bauneg Beg Grange and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Glendene was preceded in death by: her husband of 35 years, Robert Woodsome, who died in 1973; and three siblings, Ruth Whitehouse, Maurice Emmons and Mildred Hale.

Surviving are: three nieces, Carole Stead and her husband Roger of Indian Land, S.C., Jacqueline Vezina and her husband Roger of Florida and Karen (Smith) Moulton and her husband Michael of Limerick; and a nephew, Lorin Smith of Limerick.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main St. in Springvale. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 2. Interment will follow at the Highland Annex Cemetery in Limerick.
