SOUTH PORTLAND – Maine Connections Academy will hold two upcoming public information sessions regarding its tuition-free, virtual charter school for students in grades 7–12. The academy will open in September and is now enrolling students for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The first public session will be held on Monday, June 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the Marriott Sable Oaks?in South Portland.
The second session will be held on Tuesday, June 3, at 6 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Brunswick.
During each session, families will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of the school, explore the program and curriculum and learn more about the enrollment process.
The Maine Connections Academy is offering certified teachers, an award-winning curriculum, engaging electives, social experiences and more for families and students who want an individualized approach to education.
A virtual school can serve a wide variety of students, including those who are significantly ahead or behind in the classroom, those who need a flexible schedule or learn at a different pace from their peers and those who need more individualized attention or live in rural settings.
