YARMOUTH — Tyler Elkington scored five goals and dished out three assists to lead Kennebunk to an 11-4 victory over Yarmouth in a Western Maine Conference boys lacrosse game on Wednesday night.

Josh Hussey added two goals and two assists for Kennebunk (6-4), which led the Clippers (6-4) by a 5-1 score at halftime.

Jake Boothby, Pat Gassman, Pat Murphy and Donovan Conner all scored once for the Rams, who got 10 saves from Ben Bath in net and four caused turnovers by Nicco DeLorenzo on defense.

Thornton Academy 11, Westbrook 3

SACO — Isaac Sinclair scored five goals and also had an assist to lead Thornton Academy past Westbrook on senior night at Hill Stadium on Wednesday.

Zach Bryant also had two goals for the Golden Trojans (8-3), while Jack Grondin and Chris Camire combined to stop seven Westbrook (4-6) shots on goal.

Girls Lacrosse

North Yarmouth Academy 17, Wells 15

NORTH YARMOUTH — Olivia Madore scored four goals, including the go-ahead goal in the last three minutes, as NYA (4-6) topped Wells (4-6) in a high-scoring Western Maine Conference girls lacrosse game on Wednesday.

Nikki Moody led the Warriors with five goals, while Jasmine Loukola and Amanda Deshaies added three apiece.

Boys Tennis

Portland 5, Massabesic 0

GORHAM — Curran Clere defeated Jake Collupy 8-0 at the No. 1 singles as Portland (7-4) swept Massabesic (5-6) in an SMAA boys tennis match played at the University of Southern Maine.

With all matches shortened to a single set, the Bulldogs got an 8-4 win from Chris Eye against the Mustangs’ Justin Langlois at No. 2 singles, while Peter Grabizis beat Kyle Duffy 8-4 at No. 3 singles.

In the doubles, Alex Abreu and Will Sarvis beat Andrew Mongiat and Adam Marcotte 8-4, while Peter Barry and Henry Gates topped Avery Ring and Chase Berry by the same score.
