TOPSHAM — Brady Larson tossed a two-hitter to lead the Brunswick High School baseball team to a 4-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Mt. Ararat on Thursday.

Larson struck out 14 and walked four in his completegame effort as the Dragons improved to 7-6 and visit Oxford Hills today.

Will Bessey had three hits to lead the Brunswick offense, while Larson singled twice and Ryan Maciejewski picked up a key RBI single.

“Larson pitched as well as I have seen him pitch, always in control with a lot of called third strikes,” said Mt. Ararat coach Bob Neron after his Eagles fell to 2-11 and visit Mt. Blue today.

Reilly Kons and Ellison Etnier each singled for Mt. Ararat. On the mound, Kevin Carter went the distance on nine hits, two strikeouts and four walks.

MORSE 2
ERSKINE 3

The host Eagles scored two runs in the sixth inning to pull out a KVAC Class B win over Morse at South China on Wednesday.

Tyler Bailey (1-for-4) plated the winning run for Erskine Academy (7-7) with a single. Ryan Rodrigue doubled and pitched a complete game with three hits, two strikeouts and four walks.

Andrew Lacavera was 2- for-3 with two RBIs to power Morse. Liam McDonough singled, and starting pitcher Dakota Jacobs went six innings on four hits.

OCEANSIDE 10
MORSE 8

The Shipbuilders scored five runs in the seventh inning, but came up short in a KVAC loss to Oceanside on Thursday at Bath.

Morse fell to 9-5 and hosts Gardiner today.

Thomas Curtis, Zach Peaco and Jimmy Strong had two hits apiece for Oceanside. Pitcher Nick Mazurek pitched into the seventh inning, with six strikeouts and four walks. Ryan Allender earned the save.

Keegan McDonough led Morse with a pair of hits and a run scored. Trenton Moore singled in two runs, while Liam McDonough doubled and scored twice.

RICHMOND 10
GREENVILLE 1

Mike Stewart tossed a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and four walks to lead the Bobcats in the first game of an East-West Conference doubleheader.

Brendan Emmons doubled twice to lead the Richmond offense, while Cameron Emmons delivered a key two-run single. Stewart drove in a run with a double.

Cody Mills had both hits for Greenville.

RICHMOND 18
GREENVILLE 9

The Bobcats scored nine runs in the sixth inning for a come-from-behind win and a sweep of the doubleheader.

Richmond improved to 9-1 and hosts Greater Portland Christian on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Brendan Emmons relieved starter Mike Holt in the fourth inning. He tossed 3.2 scoreless frames with six strikeouts, five hits and one walk. Holt struck out six and walked four.

At the plate, Curtis Anderson’s three-run double in the sixth gave Richmond the lead. Brendan Emmons, Cameron Emmons, Tyler Soucy and Stewart each singled.

Greenville (6-6) pitches walked 13 and struck out 10. Mills and Trevor Richards had two singles each.
