Students from The New School in Kennebunk met recently at Wells Harbor to christen the “Wu Wei” ”“ the high school’s new 23-foot sailboat. The name is a Taoist expression that loosely translates as “going with the flow.” The students will be sailing the boat around Long Island Sound for two weeks during the school’s Spring Intensives, an annual event where students embark on educational adventures. The sailboat crew consists of, from left to right, Roger Benoit, Xander Davenport, John Sherman and Micah Gilbert. History teacher Steve Schaeffer, back left, will captain the boat.
