BIDDEFORD — Brady Crepeau struck out five and allowed three hits in five shutout innings as Biddeford jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the way to a 10-4 victory over Bonny Eagle in an SMAA baseball game on Tuesday at St. Louis Field.

Corey Brown led the Tigers (14-2) offensively, going 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI.

Brown and Corey Creeger combined to pitch the last two innings, with the Scots (3-13) scoring all their runs in the sixth.

Kennebunk 10, Yarmouth 5

YARMOUTH — Nick Emmons hit a three-run homer, Kip Richard had four hits and Nate Gilbert had four RBIs as Kennebunk smashed 17 hits to beat Yarmouth 10-5 in a Western Maine Conference baseball game on Tuesday.

Ben Lary pitched five innings, giving up three runs, to move to 4-1 for the Rams (10-6). Luke Klenda hit a solo home run and had three RBIs for the Clippers (8-8).

Boys Tennis

Kennebunk 3, Portland 0

PORTLAND — No. 11 Kennebunk got a major lift from its two doubles teams as it upset sixth-seeded Portland 3-2 in a Western Class A boys preliminary round tennis match on Tuesday afternoon at Deering Oaks.

The Rams’ (7-6) Benjamin Skillin and Josh Kuun beat the Bulldogs’ (8-5) Alex Abreu and Charles Gauvin 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 1 doubles, while Carter Stone and Hunter Nelson beat Will Sarvis 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 2 doubles.

Kennebunk’s third point came at the No. 3 singles as Peter Gribzis came back to beat Jason Beland 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Portland’s Curran Clere beat Alex Pearson 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 1 singles, while Chris Eye beat Riley Burke 4-6, 6-0, 7-5 at No. 2 singles.

Kennebunk moves on to face No. 3 Scarborough (11-1) in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Girls Tennis

Sanford 3, South Portland 2

SANFORD — Sanford’s Kathryn Doiron topped South Portland’s Danielle Proctor 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles match as the seventh-seeded Spartans (9-4) beat the 10th-seeded Red Riots (4-9) 3-2 in a Western Class A girls preliminary round tennis match on Tuesday at Gowen Park.

Sanford also got wins from Paige Tranchemontagne, who beat Leah Berry-Sandelin 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles, and the doubles pair of Lauren Macpherson and Ciara Negron, who battled to a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win over Dima Karakitukova and Christina Ekholm at No. 1 doubles.

South Portland’s Jamie McDonald came back to beat Sanford’s Misa Mai 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, while the Red Riots’ No. 2 doubles team of Rebecca Soule and Elizabeth Small beat the Spartans’ Alley Nichols and Tallyn Brown 6-1, 6-1.

Sanford will face No. 2 Falmouth (12-0) in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Cheverus 5, Biddeford 0

PORTLAND — Cheverus’ Caty Galligan beat Biddeford’s Michelle Cote 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match as the fifth-seeded Stags (11-2) beat the 12th-seeded Tigers (4-9) 3-2 in a Western Class A girls preliminary round tennis match on Tuesday.

Jessica Soucy downed Autumn Carey 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, while Natalia Mavor shutout Monica Gatchalian 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

In the doubles, Gillian Coates and Kathryn Smith beat Ryanne Desjardins and Maggie Maloy 6-2, 6-0, while Alexia Fornaro and Sara Hoffman topped Alexandra Boudreau and Carissa Gelinas 6-2, 6-1.

The Stags will face No. 4 Thornton Academy (10-2) in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Girls Lacrosse

Massabesic 10, Gorham 9

WATERBORO — Dylia Sylvain scored a game-high four goals and Alexis Folgio added three, including the game-winner with four minutes remaining, as Massabesic beat Gorham 10-9 in an SMAA girls lacrosse game on Tuesday night.

Megan Hill made 12 saves for Massabesic (11-1), who will enter the Western Class A playoffs as the top seed.

Katie Tucker led the Rams (8-4) with three goals.

Thornton Academy 15, Sanford 6

SANFORD — Carly McKenna scored six goals to lead Thornton to a 15-6 victory over Sanford on Tuesday at Hill Stadium.

Hannah Wuerthner added four goals for the Trojans (9-3), while Liz Helmreich scored twice for the Spartans (5-7).
