BRUNSWICK — Five Rivers Arts Alliance is accepting applications from local artists, arts collectives and studios to participate in the 2014 Arts Downtown and All Around Show to be held November 14-16. This weekend, scheduled earlier than prior years, is intended to draw artists and art lovers for a sale before holiday craft fairs. Studios and galleries throughout the Mid-coast area are encouraged to open their doors to visitors and participate in the event so customers have a panoply of venues to visit.
The group show will take place in the Coleman Burke Gallery space (next to Frontier) at Fort Andross. There will be live music scheduled for all three days, and a cash bar scheduled for Friday evening.
Registrations are due by June 30, or sooner once the space is filled. Visit the Five Rivers Arts Alliance web site to download an application; http://5raa.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
