
The state track and field championships are scheduled for Saturday, with Class A in Windham, Class B in Brewer and Class C at Dover-Foxcroft Academy.
Class A
Top-10 seedings for the Brunswick girls include the 4 x 800 relay (Anna Cowan, Tessa Cassidy, Teresa Murphy, Tiffany Tanner, Lena Martin) with a fifth-best time of 10:18.45.
The4x400relay(Martin, Anna Turner, Tanner, Cowan) has the third-best time (4:17.06).
Also, Murphy is the sixth seed in the 1600 (5:24.21), Cowan a fourth seed in the 800 (2:28.51) and Tanner a sixth seed in the 800 (2:29.23), Cassidy a seventh seed in the 3200 (11:52.9). Michelle Richards has tossed 100-00 for fifth-best in the discus.
For Mt. Ararat, Kelly Lynch is the fifth seed in the 1600 (5:23.55), Katie Frizzle has the ninth-best throw in the shot put (32-11).
Top-10 seeds for the Brunswick boys include the 4 x 800 relay (Jason Higginbotham, Jack Murphy, Zach Miller, Christopher Tanner) with a the fifth-best time of 8:34.86.
Also, Higginbotham in the 1600 (ninth, 4:46.06), Tanner in the 800 (second, 2:02.21) and Phil LeBlanc in the high jump (fifth, 6-00),
For the Mt. Ararat boys, Andrew McCracken is the top seed in the pole vault (13-00), the lone vaulter at 13 feet.
Also look for Ty Veno in the 100-meter dash (sixth, 11.54), Matt Gott in the 1600 (10th, 4:46.09), Hiro Soya in the 400 (10th, 53.71) and Justin Pierce in the high jump (eighth, 6-00).
Class C
Mountain Valley Conference champ Lisbon is competing, along with Wiscasset and Richmond.
Top-10s for the Lisbon girls includethe4x800relay(Paige Galligan, Olivia Bulgin, Bree Sautter, Adrianna White), which has the second-best time (10:51.94).
Also, Olivia Bulgin in the 1600 (second, 8:39.56), Abigail Gamache in the 1600 (sixth, 9:30.45), Sautter in the 400 (sixth, 1:04.55), White in the 800 (eighth, 2:32.42) and Durgin in the pole vault (fourth, 7- 06)
Richmond’s Taylor Houdlette is seeded seventh in the javelin (97-1) and ninth in the shot put (29-10.50).
The Lisbon boys’ 4 x 800 relay (Henry Adams, Nicholas Harriman, Nick Huston, Austin Bedford) is ranked fourth (9:01.19), while the 4 x 100 relay (Quincy Thompson, Shawn Grover, Henry Adams, Jordan Torres) is third-seeded in 46.71.
The4x400relay(Bedford, Charles Adams, Henry Adams, Torres) holds the top time in 3:40.25.
Tyler Bard is the topranked race/walker with a time of 7:12.40, followed by teammates Jeff Willey (second, 7:41.13) and Jake Angelico (eighth, 8:42.48). Bard is also ranked sixth in the pole vault (10-06)
Also, look for Charles Adams in the 110 hurdles (fourth, 17.11) and 300 hurdles (first, 42.47), Zach Stevens in the 110 hurdles (ninth, 18.19), Harriman in the 1600 (ninth, 4:43.97) and 3200 (eighth, 10:20.86), Henry Adams in the 400 (fourth, 53.45), Torres in the 400 (ninth, 54.73), Jordan Glover in the long jump (first, 20-06) and triple jump (second, 41-01), Thompson in the triple jump (10th, 38-07.75), Andrew Golino in the discus (10th, 119- 01) and shot put (10th, 41- 08.00), and Cam Ramich in the pole vault (third, 11-00).
Wiscasset’s Nate Austin is ranked eighth in the shot put (42-06).
Class B
Morse and Freeport are headed to Brewer.
Morse is coming off the KVAC Championships with several personal-best efforts.
“I was really happy with how the kids performed,” said Morse coach Shawn Guest. “They showed up on Saturday and their results proved that point. We just do not have a lot of depth, but the kids that were in all earned places.”
Among the PBs were Savannah Simmons-Grover in the javelin (115-03), Max Lareau in the long jump (20-01.50), Chris Walfield in the 3200 (9:55.00), Maris Adler in the 800 (2:35/23) and Rachel Detwiler in the 100 hurdles (18.83).
Also,the4x800ofAdler, Amelia Franklin, Amy Franklin and Kelsea Albertson (10:59.76),andtheboys4x400 relay of James Lovitt, Aidan McGowan, Cody Marenius and Lareau (3:49.12), placed at KVACs.
Simmons-Grover is seeded sixth in the high jump (5-00) and second in the javelin (115- 03).
TheMorsegirls4x800relay is seeded eighth.
For the Morse boys look for Noah Lapointe in the 1600 (sixth, 4:39.66), Walfield in the 3200 (fourth, 9:54.98), Lareau in the long jump (fifth, 20-01.50), Juwon Moore in the shot put (seventh, 43-08) and Marenius in the pole vault (11-00).
The Freeport girls’ 4 x 800 relay of Sydney Ambrose, Bethanie Knighton, Chloe Hight and Hayley Steckler is seeded seventh (10:51.76) and the4x400ofLexiDietrich, Hight, Knighton and Maddie Squibb is sixth (4:23.33).
Individually, top-10 seeds include Knighton in the 400 (third, 1:00.88), Squibb in the 800 (eighth, 1:03.41), Steckler in the 800 (ninth, 2:31.44) and Dietrich in the 200 (fourth, 26.90).
The Freeport boys’ 4 x 800 squad (Henry Jaques, Erik Brobst, Chandler Vincent, AJ Daniel) is seeded ninth 8:58.78, whilethe4x100(AJDaniel, Demetrius Rodriguez, Harrison Stivers, Chandler Wyman) is seeded seventh in 47.13.
Individually, look for Luke Spaulding in the race/walk (10th, 8:25.56), Stivers in the 400 (second, 51.02) and 800 (fourth, 2:01.27), and Vincent in the 3200 (fifth, 9:56.74).
