RICHMOND — Richmond High School has released its list of top scholars from the Class of 2014.

Megan Kenyon

Megan Kenyon is the daughter of Lori and Gerald Page. Her grade point average ranked first in her class. In high school, she participated in honors and AP courses. Megan has enjoyed working in customer service for the past two years and is proud to be a shift leader. During her junior year, she transferred to Richmond from Gardiner. Next fall, Megan plans to study marketing management at Thomas College, where she is enrolled in the accelerated masters program in business. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family and animals.

Haley Murphy

Haley Murphy is the daughter of Deanna Rice and David Soucy. She is valedictorian of her class. In high school, she participated in soccer, basketball, track and field and softball. Haley also participated in Key Club, student council, and math team. She served as Key Club president this year and vice president of her class. She sang in the Madrigals chorus. Her junior year, she was inducted into the National Honor Society. Next fall, Haley will be attending Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and majoring in nursing. When she’s not busy, Haley enjoys writing, reading and being outdoors.

Megan Barto

Megan Barto is the daughter of Raymond Barto and Barbie Garland. She is third, as well as the salutatorian, of her class. In her junior year of high school, she participated in S.TA.G.E. Megan served as secretary of the class both her sophomore and senior years. Next fall, Megan plans to study psychology at the University of Maine in Presque Isle.

Collin Acord

Collin Acord is the son of Christopher and Therese Acord. He is fourth in his class. In high school, he participated in soccer, basketball and baseball. Collin served as president of student council and vice president of Key Club; he was also a member of National Honor Society. During his senior year, he was student of the month at CATC and won his Skills Competition in Precision Machining. Next fall, Collin plans to study Marine Engineering at Maine Maritime Academy. When not playing sports, he enjoys relaxing, hanging with friends, and snowmobiling.

Katrena Oakes

Katrena Oakes is the daughter of Anita Carter. She is fifth in her class. In high school, she played basketball during her sophomore year. She was on honor roll during her freshman, junior and senior years. She volunteered at the “House of Richmond.” She has been going to CATC for Medical/ Veterinary terminology class. In that class, she helped at the Red Cross and The Kennebec Human Society. In her free time, Katrena likes to go out in nature and draw.

Kayla Hurley

Kayla Hurley is the daughter of Adam and Nadine Hinkley and John Hurley. She is sixth in her class. In high school, Kayla participated in softball. During her senior year, Kayla attended CATC in the Certified Nurses Assistant program. Next fall, Kayla plans to work as a CNA while studying nursing at the University of Maine, Augusta.

Dakota McArthur

Dakota McArthur is the daughter of Arlene Swan and Clifford McArthur. She is seventh in her class. In high school, she participated in Key Club, Math Team, and Journalism. Dakota served as class treasurer for three years. Next fall, Dakota plans to study Elementary Education at the University of Maine at Farmington.

Hayley Winokurzew

Hayley Winokurzew is the daughter of Olef and Rhonda Winokurzew and is one of nine children. She is eighth in her class. In high school, she participated in Concert and Pep Band, Volunteer Day of Caring, and Prom Decorating Committee, as well as helping out at the local food bank. Next fall, Hayley plans to study business at Northern Virginia Community College. When she is not involved in school activities, she enjoys listening to and playing music, relaxing at the lake, running, and participating in her Church Youth Group.

Nathan Tribbet

Nathan Tribbet is the son of Shannon and Kathy Tribbet. He is ninth in his class. In high school, he participated in soccer and basketball. Nathan has obtained his State of Maine one and two oils Apprentice License. After graduating, Nathan will advance his career to include his gas licensing and become part of the Main Street Fuel team. When not in school, Nathan enjoys spending time racing, working, and being with friends and family.

Brittany Beaulieu

Brittany Beaulieu is the daughter of Brenda Pettie. She is 10th in her class. During high school, she participated in madrigals, chorus, and yearbook; additionally, she was a JMG officer. Her outside interests include being with friends and having fun. After high school, she will be working at Pine State Trading in Gardiner.

Chika Dorothy Obi

Chika Dorothy Obi is the daughter of Mitzi Obi; she rounds out the top students of Richmond’s Class of 2014. She participated in soccer, softball and Key Club. She served as the Prom Committee president her junior year. She completed her Certified Nursing Assistant program in May 2014. Chika plans to attend SMCC in the fall where she will major in pre-nursing. She plans to work in the medical field. Chika has worked at the Topsham Panera Bread for the last year and enjoys spending time with her friends and sisters Kelsie and Badji.
