SACO — Francis Xavier Gorham, 88, died June 11, 2014 at the Seaside Nursing and Retirement Home in Portland.

He was born June 20, 1925, the son of Peter B. and Annie (Greene) Gorham.

He attended Cathedral Grammar School, Cheverus High School in Portland and Northeastern University for electrical engineering.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by: his son, Lorne Peter Gorham; sisters, Catherine P. Macdonald and Mary Gorham; brothers, Rev. John H. Gorham, M.M., Rev. Peter P. Gorham and Joseph Gorham.

He is survived by: his wife, Lorna Gorham of Saco; sister, Ann Besier of Harpswell; children, Martin Gorham and his wife Lucille of Durham, N.H., Mary Gorham Malia of Westbrook, Kevin Gorham and his wife Kristi of Lyman, and Sean Gorham and his wife Mary of York; grandchildren, Meghan Houde of Dayton, Joshua Gorham of Saco, Michael Goulet of Saco, Kayla Gorham of Biddeford, Jonathan Malia of Buxton, Zoey Malia of New York City, Dylan Gorham of San Diego, Calif., William Gorham of Nashville, Isabel Gorham of Durham, N.H. and Katrina White of Harpswell; great-grandchildren, Cameron Houde, McKade Houde, Justin Gorham, Cadense Goulet and Maxim White; nephews, John, Peter and Stephen Macdonald.

A graveside memorial will be held at a future date. Arrangements are by Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral and Cremation Services, 365 Main St., Saco.
