The Board of Selectmen will conduct a public hearing tonight to hear comment on a request for a liquor license from Sylvester’s Restaurant, LLC.

The hearing will take place during the board’s 7 p.m. meeting at the municipal building at 100 Main St.

The restaurant is located in the space the former Boot and Buckle Cafe occupied at 235 Lewiston Road and according to the company’s

Facebook page was slated to open today, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Also, the town clerk is retiring as of June 30. Today, selectmen will consider appointing a town clerk and registrar of voters; and creating and appointing individuals to the position of director of Tax Office. They will also consider appointing a motor vehicle agent and Inland Fisheries and Wildlife agent.

Various board and committee appointments are also scheduled.

In other business:

— The Board of Selectmen will consider approving a contract with Smith and Associations to conduct the 2014 financial audit for the town.

— The fire and rescue department is asking to use a preferred vendor to purchase cardiac machines, and to join the Massachusetts state bid program to purchase the fire truck approved at the May town meeting.
