BRUNSWICK — Jason Carter and John Parker delivered a two-run single each as the Brunswick American Legion came back from a seven-run deficit for an 11-10 Zone III victory of Roger’s Post on Thursday at Edwards Field.
Zach Meggison pitched 3.1-innings of one-hit relief for the win. He struck out two.
Down 10-7 in the sixth, Brunswick (2-0 and slated to host Andy Valley on Saturday in a doubleheader at 9:30 a.m.) tied the game and won it in the seventh on a balk.
Brandon Verney had three hits and scored three runs for Roger’s Post, while Brunswick’s Ryan Maciejewski picked up two hits and scored a pair of runs.

Lukas Johnson launched a three-run home run to break the game open as Tri- Town (1-0) defeated Highland Green (1-2) at Poland High School.
Johnson added a single, and Kaleb Bridgham and Zach Johnson each singled twice.
Shawn Murphy and Ian MacFawn combined on the mound for Tri-Town on 10 strikeouts and two walks.
Highland Green was led by a pair of hits from Eddie Stewart. Kevin Carter, Griffin Stockford and Caleb Hall each singled.
On the mound, Mike Stewart and Ellison Etnier combined on eight hits, seven walks and six strikeouts.
Highland Green’s scheduled doubleheader on Saturday has been postponed. Highland hosts Smith-Tobey Post 21 on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
