OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Wells native Paul McDonough went 3-for-4, including a home run and a triple, to lead the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide to a 7-2 victory over Seacoast in an FCBL game at The Ballpark on Friday.
The Tide scored three runs in the bottom of the first and never relinquished that lead. Jake Osborne led off the frame with a single, then advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches before scoring on an Aaron Wilson single. Tide veterans Graham McIntire and Mekae Hyde also drove in runs in the inning, on a single and a sacrifice fly, respectively.
Wilson scored in the fifth, and McDonough in the sixth after hitting a lead-off triple.
McDonough finished off the Raging Tide scoring with a two-run homer in the seventh.
Brian O’Keefe earned the win for Old Orchard Beach after scattering two runs on seven hits in six innings. Scarborough native Ben Greenberg pitched two scoreless innings in relief, and closer Dakota Edwards threw a perfect ninth inning.
