BIDDEFORD — Marie Jeanne Boisvert, 89, of Biddeford, died Friday evening, June 20, 2014 at St. Andre’s Healthcare Facility.

She was born April 9, 1925 in Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Arthur and Roseanne (Gobeil) Paquette.

She came to this area with her family as a young child and was educated in Saco at the Notre Dame de Lourdes School and later earned her GED through the Biddeford Adult Education Program.

On June 6, 1945, she married Paul Boisvert at St. Joseph’s Church.

Jeanne, early on, worked in the textile industry. Later, she had multiple businesses and endeavors. She was proprietor of Jeanne’s Luncheonette on Green Street in Biddeford. She ran a saw sharpening shop and also an ice cream shop on May Street in Biddeford.

Jeanne loved music and dancing with her red shoes and also playing cards. She was a kind, good and gentle person, who loved her children and grandchildren and was dedicated to them. Her sense of humor made many people laugh.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Boisvert, on May 1, 1976; seven brothers, Adelbert, Rosaire, Emile, Leo, Robert, Andre and Paul Paquette; and three sisters, Irene Poisson, Eva Rousselle and Maria Boutet.

Surviving are: one son, Norman Boisvert and his wife JoAnn of Biddeford; three daughters, Dorothy Mottershead and her husband Joseph of Gorham, Joan Rogers and her husband Jim of Houma, La. and Priscilla Curro and her husband Nicholas Jr. of Biddeford; one sister, Claire St. Ours of Biddeford; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the funeral home.
