BIDDEFORD — Guy Paul Babineau, 62, died suddenly at his home in Biddeford on Monday, June 23.

He was born May 23, 1952, in Biddeford to Arcille and Yvette (Dallaire) Babineau.

He was educated in local schools and was in the last graduating class of St. Louis High School.

He worked at Pratt and Whitney and General Dynamics for many years.

In his early years, Guy enjoyed time with his family at the camp on Ossipee Overflow, where many happy times were shared. Then he married and was blessed by the birth of his children. He was an avid sports fan who never gave up on his beloved Red Sox and Patriots. Though he’d dreamed of becoming a sportscaster, Guy dedicated himself to local sports and volunteered many hours to Biddeford High School. He was the “voice” of Biddeford Tiger football games and was known to local sports fans. Later, he was recognized for his many years of dedicated service.

Guy lived a simple life. His laugh came easily ”¦ he asked for little in life. God bless him as he is reunited with those who loved him most.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his brother, Richard Babineau.

He is survived by: his son, Matthew R. Babineau and his fiancée Christina Smith of Saco; his daughter, Kimberly M. Lauzier and her husband Jacob of East Waterboro; and two grandchildren, Matthew S. Babineau and Landon R. Lauzier.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, July 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
