Job Fair, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with 18 employers seeking to hire construction, health care, production and customer service employees for open positions. Jobseekers are encouraged to dress appropriately, bring a current resume and expect to interview. The job fair will be held at the CareerCenter, 21 Enterprise Drive #2, Augusta.

Home-buyer education course, 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 15, 17, 22 and 24 at Coastal Enterprises Inc., Portland. Preregistration is required and there is a $30 per person or $50 per couple (or co-buyer) nonrefundable fee. The registration deadline is July 8. The Competitive Skills Scholarship program will be accepting applications through July 3. The program is open to income-eligible Mainers who are qualified for post-secondary education to learn skills for expected high-wage jobs in Maine. Applications are available at the state’s CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor. The centers provide a variety of free services and workshops to help with job searches and to upgrade skills. Each of the 12 centers provides computer workstations and offers several employment-related programs throughout the month.
