Maine breweries join traveling beer festival

More than three dozen Maine breweries have signed up to participate in Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Across America, a traveling beer festival that will stop in Portland on Aug. 1.

The festival will be held from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Thompson’s Point. Tickets are $65 per person ($30 for designated drivers) and are available at SierraNevada.com/BeerCamp.

Other stops across the country include San Diego, Denver, Chicago and Philadelphia. Each festival will feature up to two beers per brewery, food vendors and live music.

Sample chili, chowders at upcoming Heritage Days

The Annual Chili Chowder Fest at Bath Heritage Days will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday under a big tent across from Patten Library on Summer Street.

Sample the chilis and chowders, then vote for the People’s Choice winner. There also will be a free raffle to win prizes from the local kitchen store Now You’re Cooking and other local businesses.

Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors; $10 children 6 to 10; children 5 and under get in free. For more information, call 725-3671.
