SOUTH PORTLAND — Brad Sowerby hit a pair of doubles, including an RBI double during a three-run fourth inning Tuesday, as Morrill Post rallied for a 3-2 American Legion win over Falmouth.

Henry Curran had nine strikeouts and one walk in pitching a six-hitter for Morrill Post (6-1) and Jacob Brown finished with three hits.

Connor MacDowell and Connor Aube each had two hits for Falmouth, which scored both of its runs in the top of the first inning.

ANDREWS 4, SCHWARTZ & SCHWARTZ 2: Pat Shields hit a two-run double in a three-run first inning and Andrews (3-2) held on for a win over Schwartz & Schwartz (1-6) at Deering Oaks.

Travis Godbout struck out six, walked two and allowed four hits to earn the win for Andrews.

Ken Sweet had a pair of hits for Schwartz & Schwartz.

OA YARMOUTH 4, YANKEE FORD 3: Tom Sullivan singled up the middle in the bottom of the fifth and later scored on a wild pitch, providing the winning margin in OA Yarmouth’s (3-5) victory at Yarmouth.

OA Yarmouth took a 3-2 lead with a three-run second, highlighted by RBI singles from Cody Cook and Justin McKenna, before stretching the lead to 4-2 on Sullivan’s run.

SACO BAY PT 13, BONANZA 5: Derek Neal stroked an RBI double in the first inning, an RBI single in the third and a solo homer in the fifth to lead Saco Bay PT (4-3) over Bonanza (2-5) in York.

Saco Bay PT, leading 5-3, broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning keyed by Sam Johnson’s two-run double.

MOODY’S SWEEPS LIBBY-MITCHELL: Damon Wallace hit an RBI single in the first inning and added a two-run double in the third to lift Moody’s (8-2) to a 3-2 win over Libby-Mitchell (3-6) in the opener of doubleheader at Gorham.

In game two, Alex McCarthy hit a pair of doubles and drove in three runs to pace a 13-hit attack for Moody’s as it cruised to a 12-0, five-inning win.

Jordan Ward and Logan Jordan added two RBI apiece for Moody’s.

JUNIOR LEGION

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 7, BRUNO’S 4: An RBI single by Evan Gallagher in the bottom of the fourth inning gave Gray-New Gloucester (3-5) the lead for good as it rallied from a 4-2 deficit to top Bruno’s (7-3) at Gray.

Tyler St. Pierre struck out seven over four relief innings to earn the win for Gray. St. Pierre and Thomas Wood each doubled and had two hits apiece for Gray and James Magno hit a home run.

Joe Clayton had a pair of hits for Bruno’s.

YANKEE FORD 7, OXFORD HILLS 3: Jack Casale scored two runs on two hits, striking out four while holding Oxford Hills to no runs and two hits over four innings as Yankee Ford (9-2) won in Portland.

Chris Vallee added three hits and two RBI for Yankee Ford.

STANDISH POST 128 12, SACO-BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 5: Noah Scribner had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs for Standish as it scored 12 runs in the first three innings to cruise past Saco-Biddeford Savings (2-6) at Biddeford.

Rederick Mangard added a triple and a single and scored three runs for Standish, which broke open a 6-1 lead with a six-run third inning.

Colin Lavigne, who stole two bases and scored two runs for Saco-Biddeford Savings, and Nick Gallant had a pair of hits.

LIBBY-MITCHELL 11, FAYETTE STAPLES 6: Jack Posey doubled home two runs and scored a third to key a six-run first inning as Libby Mitchell (2-5) won in Scarborough.
