WATERVILLE, Maine – An 82-year-old man who disappeared from a car while his brother was in the grocery store has been found.

Waterville Police Sgt. Daniel Goss tells WZON-AM that Wesley Johnston was found sitting under a tree in the woods Tuesday night. He suffered from severe dehydration after spending eight hours in the intense heat and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Johnston was last seen sitting in a car midmorning Tuesday at JFK Plaza. His brother went into the supermarket and Johnston was no longer there when he returned.

Goss says that Johnston recently suffered a stroke, which caused him to be disoriented.

Waterville Police, Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service were all involved in the search effort.
