BOSTON — Prosecutors say they do not oppose a request from former Patriots player Aaron Hernandez to move him to a jail closer to his Boston attorneys.

But they are firing back at claims made by Hernandez’s attorneys. In their written transfer request, Hernandez’s lawyers accused the jail administrator of violating Hernandez’s privacy and due process rights.

Prosecutors called the defense claims “baseless, theatrical, and legally unsupportable.”
