The Durham town gazebo at War Memorial Park sported a fresh coat of paint, just in time for July 4, thanks to the efforts of an Androscoggin County Jail work crew.
Louisa Picard sells seasonal plants outside her home at 43 Bow St. in Freeport. Picard turns over a quarter of her proceeds to the Coastal Humane Society of Brunswick. She also encourages people to bring in their old plant pots, which she recycles. “I sell whatever is in season,” Picard said.
Chanler Harrison of Freeport sets up for the day his hot dog/sausage stand on Depot Street in Freeport. Harrison, who established the stand as his senior project at Freeport High School, opens for business on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. He will attend Husson University this fall, in the School of Communications.
