BIDDEFORD — No updates have been issued in the ongoing investigation into the double murder that occurred on Sunday, July 6, and no suspects have been charged.
Meanwhile, funerals have been scheduled for both victims, who police say died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds from an incident, which occurred at around 7 p.m. Sunday at 19 Western Ave., Biddeford.
Services for Russell “Chris” Lavoie, 42, of Old Orchard Beach, are slated for Tuesday. The funeral for Jeffrey M. Lude, 37, of Biddeford will be on Monday.
Lude’s obituary appeared Thursday, and those who knew him remembered him as a star athlete during his time at Biddeford High School.
Lavoie’s obituary appears today on page A5, and his family and friends have posted kind words online.
Lavoie, according to his obituary, had also attended Biddeford High School. He loved the outdoors, and had worked in outdoor jobs including paving and construction, according to the obituary.
In a posting on an online guestbook for Hope Memorial Chapel and Cathedral Pines Funeral Home, Lavoie was described as “a kind soul.”
His sister, Deborah Krush, posted on Facebook earlier this week, thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
“It truly helps,” she wrote. “If I could stop these tears. I need to find some strength. ”¦ God please help me and my family.”
A friend responding to Krush described Lavoie as having “a good heart.”
