A body was removed from the Mousam River in Sanford Friday afternoon.
Sanford Police Detective Chad Allen said the body was a male.
The body was removed from a dam near Mill Street in the Springvale section of town.
The identity of the man and other information about the incident were not immediately available.
Allen said Sanford Police are investigating the death.
