OLD ORCHARD BEACH — A superb effort by Sam Nepiarsky spurred the Nashua Silver Knights (16-15) to a 6-2 win over the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (10-21) on Friday at The Ballpark.
Nepiarsky struck out nine hitters en route to the Nashua win. The Silver Knights’ pitcher gave up just five hits over eight shutout innings.
Michael Pierson racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Silver Knights. He tripled in the fifth and homered in the ninth.
Lincoln Sanborn (2-3) was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
The Tide was held scoreless until the ninth inning, but an RBI single by Jake Osborne scored Aaron Wilson before Paul McDonough came home on a passed ball.
